Make it repeat: a standing schedule that runs itself

Jummah happens every Friday. Once your rota has the shape you want, you shouldn’t have to publish it again by hand every week. Tap Make this repeat once and Kadim keeps publishing it for you, week after week, until you say otherwise.

Make this repeat

  1. Open a rota that looks right: the roles, times and capacities you want every week.
  2. Tap (Rota actions) at the top of the board, then Make this repeat.
  3. Kadim captures the shape of the rota: each role’s time is remembered relative to the anchor (car park stewards 45 minutes before Jummah starts, refreshments 30 minutes after, and so on). If the start time ever moves, every role moves with it.

Once a rota belongs to a schedule, the ⋯ sheet shows a quiet Repeats weekly marker in place of the button. Tap it any time to open the schedule page.

From then on it runs itself. Kadim plans the upcoming weeks and, once a day, publishes whatever is due so there are always about two weeks of published rotas ahead of today. Weeks further out sit as planned, ready but not yet live, so nothing is published months before anyone needs it.

Your daily digest, and why nobody else is texted

When the schedule publishes something, you get one text: a short digest of what went live, with the share link. Forward it to your WhatsApp group yourself, the same way you always share a rota.

Change the time from a date

Clocks change, winter Jummah moves earlier. On the schedule page, choose Change the time from a date and pick one of two options:

Either way, weeks that are already published never move on their own. If a published week now has the wrong time, fix that week directly, then re-share its link yourself so everyone sees the new time.

Skips are for activities. Prayer never stops.

If your schedule is an activity, like Madrasa on Saturdays, you can skip the weeks it genuinely doesn’t run, such as half-term. Skipped weeks are simply never published.

Kadim works out which is which by itself: a rota made to repeat becomes a prayer schedule, and a task (posted from the tasks screen) made to repeat becomes an activity. There is nothing to choose, and no way to accidentally make Jummah skippable.

Prayer is different: Jummah is never skipped. Kadim will not offer to skip a prayer schedule, because the prayer happens regardless.

The health strip

The schedule page carries a health strip so you can see at a glance that the daily publish is doing its job: when it last ran, when it is next due, how many weeks are live ahead, and how long it has run without you lifting a finger.

The standing-schedule health strip: last ran, next due and the zero-touch streak

If a run was missed, the page says so loudly, so you are never left guessing whether next Friday’s rota exists. For how a schedule plans ahead and why only you get the digest, see How standing schedules work .
