Run the duty board: who stands where

You recruited by headcount (“20 for Jummah”) and people said yes. The night before, you decide who does what. Open the board and tap a person onto a duty. That is the whole job.

The rota board opens on Slots. Switch it to Duties and the duty board takes over: the pool of committed volunteers (Ready to help) sits at the top, and the duties (car park, refreshments, madrasa corridor) below it. You work top to bottom, lifting people from the pool onto the duties.

Assign someone to a duty

Open the rota board (/coordinator/rotas/{id}) and tap Duties.
Each person in Ready to help shows facts for your mosque only: how many times they have served here and how long they have been a member. There is no score and no ranking, just facts, in front of you.
If someone set their availability, a card may show May not be free this day. That is advice, not a block. You can still assign them.
On that person’s card, tap the button for the duty you want, for example Assign: Car park marshal. For a reserved duty (a brothers-only or sisters-only role), choose the section on the same card first.
The person gets one text: Kadim: you are on car park. Please arrive by 12:15pm. If you cannot make it, open the rota to step back.

The safeguarding check is automatic

Some duties, like the children’s madrasa corridor, need an enhanced DBS. If you try to place someone without one, Kadim refuses and tells you why, with the reminder and the DBS-sharing route one tap away. There is no way around it: the check runs every time, on the duty you are assigning to. This is the point of the board, the right people in the right places, provably. Changing your mind

Return to pool: tap Return to pool on a duty to unassign someone. They go back to general support, and the duty opens again. If that leaves a gap close to Friday, your team is nudged automatically.
A volunteer can also step back themselves from their own link (“can’t do this one”) and return to the pool the same way. Assignment is an offer, not a conscription: everyone here already said yes to the event.

What “served” means

“Served 6 times here” counts duties and slots this person has held at your mosque. It is not attendance. Kadim does not yet capture who actually turned up; that is a separate, later step. We say it honestly so you can read the number for what it is.
