Roles and permissions

Every person at a mosque holds one or more roles there. A person can also hold different roles at different mosques. All of this authority lives in Kadim’s own domain, never in a sign-in provider’s settings.

The roles

RoleSigns in?Can do
VolunteerNo account neededClaim slots, drop them, offer a skill
CoordinatorYes, with their emailCreate, change and share rotas, run the duty board, make schedules repeat, post call-outs, thank the team
TrusteeYes, with their emailEverything on the safeguarding dashboard: record checks, chase expiries, run the policy review, export the audit, read year coverage
Platform operatorYes, platform sign-inCreate mosques and move them along their lifecycle, read product feedback

A coordinator sees the DBS status chips so they know who can be placed, but never the certificate facts. Only trustees see those.

Who can appoint and remove

Appointing and removing roles happens on the Team page, which admits coordinators and trustees. Use the floating Add someone button to appoint someone. To remove a role, tap the person in the team list to open their member page, tap Actions, then tap Remove beside that specific role. The governing rules are:

The full how-to is Appoint your committee .

Who can record a check

Only a trustee can record a DBS check, chase an expiry, sign off the policy review or export the audit. A coordinator cannot.

Who can publish a rota

Only a coordinator can create, change, share, publish or repeat a rota, or post a call-out. Volunteers and trustees see their own views.

What suspension changes

When a mosque is suspended, coordinators are locked out of the rota and team screens, and actions that spend on texts are paused. A trustee’s read access to safeguarding records is never blocked. See Mosque lifecycle states .
